Inspired by a little fox, with the heart of a lion.

CutestFoxFace.jpg

Once upon a time,

there was a tiny 4 lb. pomeranian ball of fluff, Foxy, who showed the world (well, showed her Mom, our Founder, Becca, but will EVENTUALLY show the world) what it means to have the heart of a lion.

Foxy was rambunctious, sweet, fiercely loyal, loving beyond words, and an expert-level cuddler who had the most luxuriously soft hair known to man & dog alike.  She would regularly stop traffic & passers-by with her undeniable good looks & spunky walk, and would steal the hearts of all who crossed her path, before they even knew what happened.

Like many of us, this little unicorn had hardships.  After surviving being poisoned by "safe" pest control, the little fox developed seizures.  7 yrs of perfect health, & now this whole new world of seizures, medicine every 12 hours, Doctors, Neurologists, & overnight visits with her friends in the ICU, was well, pretty scary, to say the least.  But the little fox kept her red, fluffy tail held high & galavanted around this thing called life with the H A P P I E S T  OF  A T T I T U D E S .

Medicine?  Yucky, but shake it off.

Seizure?  Whoa, THAT was nuts . . . okay now let's P L A Y !

Snuggle?  All day, erry day.

So WHAT if I can't chew my crunchy food very much anymore, I shall eat that soft, mushy food right up like a B O S S .

What's up, Doc!  Here is my wittle paw again for the IV . . . I'll take it like a champ . . . but first, a kiss!

Brave little girl.

I'll never give up on my Mom, & she'll never give up on me.

That was our way of life.

We took each perfect day & each curve ball as they came.

While Foxy WAS incredibly good-looking, she became THE example of:

"It's what's on the inside that counts."

She DID have a striking physical resemblance to a LION, but more importantly, she had the HEART OF A LION.

To us, having the heart of a lion means:

to be  BRAVE ,

to have  COURAGE ,

to be  FIERCELY LOYAL ,

to  PROTECT ,

to  PLAY ,

to  LOVE a LOT ,

& to NEVER GIVE UP .

It means to have  FAITH .

That gritty, soul testing, soul feeding, soul GROWING, PERSEVERING FAITH.

It means to HAVE HEART , to THINK WITH YOUR HEART , & to  ACT WITH ,  you guessed it,  YOUR HEART.

It means to  FORGIVE , & it means to be oh so THANKFUL .

It means that you can't change to past, but you CAN choose how to LIVE .

It means its okay to L E T  G O  &  L E T  G O D .

It means  FAMILY .

It means  CUDDLES .

It means  SNACK TIME .

It means  DOING THE RIGHT THING & it means having  INTEGRITY  (even when no one is looking).

It means to GIVE A HELPING HAND (or paw), & to PAY IT FORWARD.

So back to the story.

Foxy would go on to LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST.  She would survive surgeries, & escape the trip to the rainbow bridge a handful of times.  We learned  THANKFULLY  that apparently cats are NOT the only ones graced with 9 lives.

We truly embraced the extra TIME we were gifted, and eventually, at almost 11 yrs old, on July 24, 2014, I held her in my arms as her heart beat for the last time in the City of Angels ICU, in Culver City, California, only a couple of miles from our casa.  Currently, she hangs with the many Angels in Heaven, while the memory of her lives on here.

THANK YOU for reading OUR STORY and WELCOME to the Little Lion Heart FAMILY.

Much Love, Becca, Founder
